Animals and the Paranormal
By: Michelle Jackson

As anyone who knows me well will tell you, animals have always been very dear to me. I seem to have some kind of special link with them and can almost tell you what they are thinking. It may sound
strange to someone who does not look at animals as the spiritual creatures that they are, but anyone else who adores these blessed beings, can attest to these same kinds of feelings towards our
beloved pets.

When you are this close to a pet, you also know their normal behavior, and anything that seems to be out of the ordinary will definitely stick out.

I can vouch for such an experience with our dog Jack, as well as our cat Timber. Several times I have seen my cat stare off as if he’s seeing something I cannot. If I watch him, and take a picture at the
area he’s looking at, lots of times, I’m able to catch what looks like an orb.

A few friends of ours were starting to form a paranormal investigative team, though it sparked the interest in several of us, it didn’t seem to go very far. At any rate, one specific evening, we had just
come home from one of our meetings, and I was doing some research online, when our dog Jack, seemed to become very agitated at something. He started barking wildly; growling, huffing, and his hair
began to stand up.

He was staring near the foot of the couch, and our cat Juice was lying on my daughters jacket on the couch. At first I thought he was doing this towards Juice, but, that was unlike him. (Juice had a bit of
an attitude, and didn’t much care for Jack) Jack was somewhat afraid of her, so I asked my daughter to grab my camera, and I snapped a few pictures.

In one particular photo, you could see Jack’s stance as he was looking at something. On the floor in front of him appeared to be a moving orb. Then, my cat Timber walked in, and was looking in the same
area. Due to a major hard drive crash I lost most of these photos, but luckily my daughter had saved one onto her computer. The following photo shows after the orb had vanished, but the animals still
seem to be looking in that direction.

This made me believe that yes… animals do seem to see invisible forces. But, I also wondered this… Do they see apparitions, energy balls, mists, or something entirely different? What exactly makes them
freak out like that? If loved ones that pass on visit us often, as we are sometimes told, and animals can see them, what would cause them to
become so worked up by what seems to be so natural to them?

To me, it would seem that these would be accepted by animals, because they haven’t been persuaded into believing.  “There’s no such thing
as ghosts.”

These are questions we may never fully understand. Many paranormal researchers and scientists today, are willing to investigate what some
believe to be complete non-sense. I for one am a believer. With the experiences I’ve had over the many years, I know that there is in fact a
spiritual realm that exists.

Maybe we should take some time and learn to be closer to nature, and its creatures. Maybe they hold the answers we are all searching for.
Native American Indians were very in touch with nature, and were very wise about the spirit realm. We have all learned the hustle and
bustle of everyday life, and take natures greatest gifts for granted.

So, the next time your beloved pet seems to be staring off into the “unknown,” snap a picture, get out your recorder, ask questions..
maybe there is something to it after all.
